I'm retired as of today. Not the way I pictured myself going out as I took a medical retirement due to tremors I get in my hands and head. A lot of things can be challenging but I look at it as therapy. i've had them since I was young, Therapist is trying to control them , but there is no cure and Parkenson's has been ruled out. At 58, I'm good with it . More time with the family , woodworking and the outdoors

Congrats - I retired almost 5 years ago slightly older than you - haven't regretted it 1 for second. Good luck with your health

Sorry to hear the circumstances but, congratulations and I wish you well. You’ve got talent and drive. You’ll make the best of it.
I’m looking forward to seeing your projects.

Miller, sorry to hear that your ailment forced you out, but look at it as a new opportunity to spend that time with your family and friends! Use the extra time to do all the things you never had time for and most of all enjoy it!
-
Keep busy and regardless of why congrats on getting there

Congrats on your retirement which you are going to love Unfortunate that circumstances dictated when you left but you WILL make the best of it. I retired on my own terms 4 years ago and got hurt at home. It has been a rough go for a while but as I said , we WILL make the best of it and that is what I am doing Hang in there Keep your chin up Count your blessings
You have your family and they are the most important in these times
God Bless

Now you can concentrate on getting better instead of some stupid old job......

You're going to love it - I used to look forward to the weekends and went no matter what the weather - now you will be able to pick and choose when the weather is right and when you feel like it !
-
Welcome to the club! Now it's easier to get out during the week, when fishing spots aren't so crowded with those working stiffs!
-

You'll love it! Set some fishing goals for yourself. I've been retired 23 years and my goal yearly is 100 fly fishing trips and 1000 trout. Got very close a couple of times! Still at ut. Good luck.
-
Love it guys! I have a decent amount of private shares in the company I work for and there's talks of selling...that would accelerate my retirement significantly.

So what's the fishing plans looking like this week for you? Or maybe a better question is do you fish prime weather/times or just when you get the desire!?

Right now I'm trying to keep up with the raised garden box demand i'm making and selling. It's crazy . My boat is in the shop getting a short in the navigation lights fixed. Then hoping to start catching walleye. Looking into some shore fishing with my buddy and his kids later this week. Hoping to get some panfish for a pond he had put in last fall.

All good things. I've been back to back in meetings, driving a desk, training a new to me sales team that I inherited. Busting now so I can enjoy it later like you guys are.
-
Personally I think you should keep on working for another 20 years. We retired guys need your support. Keep on paying that SSI.

I think that will likely be a reality for me RG and I have no issues with that at all. Just share your stories so I can daydream about retirement. I guess I look at retirement as the ultimate in free will. It's meanginful.

It will come quicker than you know. I spent a lot of times away from the family working overtime. I don't regret it one bit . We were able to go on some wonderful vacations and I brought them a lot of things because of it. but now, like RG says "It's wonderful being my own boss " ( when my wifes not around ) Actually she's my best friend and we make a great team..
