Only missed 4 days of fishing since I re-retired 3/16.

Well, maybe. But I’m not happy fishing when it’s 38 and snowing sideways.

I’m making up for it. I fished twice today.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Thanks F/R yes Wednesday was a beautiful day no action on the lake so I hit a few culverts and streams.

Been setting up for cats the past week. Tried the punch baits on bottom rigs. Had a run or two but nothing in the net. This morning I went to one of my haunts and had a ball. Landed 5 and missed a couple more.
Here’s a couple in the 2 lb range.

Bought a new rod just for this. An 8’ ugly stick catfish rod. Had a few technical difficulties with my setup. I’m float fishing  cut bait in an outflow that’s littered with rocks and debris. I wanted a big slip float but couldn’t find one near me so I was trying to use a fixed float. Had a real problem getting the distance I needed to get a good drift.

Came home, dug up some stuff from my bobber collection and made a couple floats. Tested them out a bit ago and they look to be really good.

Fish every day !

Nice perch and cats.  When I was a kid we used to catch some big cats  in Lake Champlain but we ate the bullheads instead.

Slow today. Only 2 cats.

This one took a 7” shad like a freight train. Made a couple adjustments to my rig. It work well. I can cast a mile.
