That's a great fish!

Guess sunday was the unofficial MFF tourney day at Quabbin. We were out too from open to 1:30, did pretty good on smallies, 20 fish easy avg around 2 lbs, biggest at 3, maybe 3.5 lbs with a few larries thrown in. Got 90% of them on green pumpkin and PB&J Ned rigs in shallow water despite the brutal sun, but the biggest one smashed a white x-rap spook on top at 1 PM. Watched him hit it 3 times before I hooked him. Love that clear water!

 Those gulp minnows are killer,   cabelas has the 4 inch ones... and 5/8 oz jigs that are made for gulp... They work amazing... I know I have let baitbucket in on my secrets.. LOL as minimal as they are...   you can still get salmon on them rigged with trebles or single salmon egg hooks through the nose.   Dont be shy about using top water stuff... the big fish will crash the surface on them especially around structure...    If you are adventurous you should head towards the deeper water at curtis pond area and those islands as they hold some monsters noticed in the picture where you were... but good fish are everywhere just two cents worth of advice...

Yes that is correct.  Larry=Largemouth and Sally=smallmouth.  I take it you don't have the Mad Fisherman in your neck of the woods.

Never heard of the Mad Fisherman but know a fish anglers that fit that description including myself.  ;)

Thanks it was a great catch have been night fishing with dad still catching them but not as big as that one awesome fight
