VT hot spots?
« on: Apr 01, 2004, 01:28 PM »
I live five minutes from Windsor.  I am going to invest in a VT license this year.  Anyone have some hotspots they want to share?  I have heard there is lots of great fishing in this general area around Windsor, Ascutney, Brownsville etc.

What about the CT river?? Great spot, and you don't need the VT tag if you have a NH one.

Yeah, I fish the CR.  I am looking for some of the waters that your Fish and Game department manages for trout.  Streams, rivers etc.  I hear the VT stocking program is pretty darn good!

Well, I am not from VT, but I do fish there allot.  They do stock the Black RIver near SPringfield with "trophy trout" and the White River system may be worth exploring if thats not to far from your home.

Do you fish the CT river for bass & walleyes?

Yes, but not as much as I'd like to.  Too many places to go...

Unless I've got my bearings wrong, I believe the West River is somewhere near Brattleboro.  My father-in-law used to fish it and got some tremendous brown trout from it.
