I don't remember what kind of minnows they were, but we used to have reasonable luck in Jacksonville Pond in Jacksonville, VT. I'm not sure if that's too far from you. I never got a crayfish in there but somehow an American eel got in the pond and took out a bunch of minnows in the trap. They were probably pond shiners, creek chubs.....
