Very nice. Book matched logs. Hope they stay in order while they dry
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

My brother puts his fresh milled lumber in his barn attic (very hot up there) all strapped down with the same tiedowns we use on our boats. He lets it rest for a couple years and has very good luck that way. He retightens it every couple months.

Nice!

Used up a bunch of scrap and made up some end grain coasters.

Very close (about  week away ) from starting some wood shop projects. Couple to finish  and a few to start. Looking forward to snowy mornings and a warm woodshop.

Well, first project on the list, ( I’m re.re.re.retired as of Saturday) is to produce a wooden center pin reel. One of put volunteer members is an avid center pin fisher. We’ve talked for 3 years about it and I’m convinced I want to try it.

It’ll be fun anyway. Might even fish with it.

Tinkered with the housing my friend made for the center pin reel and got the shaft to run true. Stopped there for today. Started on a Christmas project. Building a wood Christmas tree. My Bride and I decided that we’re not buying any more Christmas trees and we don’t like the plastic ones.

Pics as I progress.

The “un Christmas Tree”

with a signature Santa topper. Yet another of my projects that require 1000 little pieces.

I just can’t help myself.

Been working on the wood center pin reel. It’s getting there. Put a handle on it today need to duplicate it to balance the spool. Added some finish, a reel foot(which I scavenged from my collection)  and need to add a shaft cap. Couple more things to complete and it should be ready for pics.

Finished my first center pin reel.

Spins really nice. Gonna pair it up with a 12’ crappie rod I have to test it out….when the weather cooperates.

The housing is cherry, spool is Sapele Mahogany, button cap is rosewood and the shaft cap is walnut.

Fun project. Next one will be big!
