We can't change thT for you Trapper.

It's really simple to fix.

On the home screen choose Profile
A drop down menu will appear
Choose "Forum Profile"
Then just choose "No Avatar"

That will fix the exploded avatar.

If you want to add a new one later, I can give you instructions.

Meanwhile.....back at the bullhead pond.......I went for a couple hours yesterday afternoon. No bites. Friday night I'll give it a real try and stay a while. This rain ought to get them going. I did hear some peepers and that's a good sign to me.

On this morning's walk I picked up a good pound of crawlers. Came home and made a 2 bucket worm farm that I saw on YouTube. One bucket sits inside of the other. The top bucket has a lid with air holes in the lid. The bottom of that bucket has holes for drainage into the bottom bucket. I used shredded newspaper and peat for the medium.

Then some research lead me to making some food for the little squirmers. Corn meal and oat meal ground up fine with the coffee grinder.

Seems I've done everything but use that coffee grinder for grinding coffee. Mostly it's used for making dubbing mixes and grinding up spices and herbs.

But, I've got a good supply of bait if they ever start biting.

Never fish for bullheads on purpose. I have only caught a few through the ice, thinking about trying it?

It's a spring ritual, we go catch some bulls, then gather some leeks, and make a pot of fish chowder.
You should give it a go Bart!

I know the bones make the best stock, but in chowder?
Just wondering.

I was also wondering how this process worked since i would assume the bones would be all over the place. Maybe i am missing something here but I am very interested in the process. I would love to try it as well with some bulls.

Mrs. Rugburn is the cook, I just get ingredients. Yup the whole carcasses go in the stock pot 1st, lightly boiled. Then she pulls them out and takes the meat off the bones. No meat wasted this way. And I'm sure she checks for straggler bones in the stock. The fish meat is then set aside to add near the end. You don't want the fish turning to mush. Etc...etc. I have never encountered a bone in her chowder.
