EYE love a parade-
« on: Aug 11, 2018, 09:23 PM »
Ran into this guy. Still swimming. 6.7 lbs on metal.

Which pic do you prefer?  Horizontal or Vertical?

Need to hold it farther from your body to get the Real length

Nice fish!

Horizontal almost always looks better to me.

REAL length does not change no matter how it's held. ;)

Weight is all that really matters anyhow-

Holding it farther out just makes them look bigger than they really are

I know this "Stiff Arming"  but the weight is what really matters in the end. ;D

Life's too short NOT to stiff-arm!

Nice fish, I’ve always been partial to the horizontal for the pics.

I realize weight is what matters in the end FS , sorry bow didn’t see a smiley so didn’t realize it was meant to be a joke , 😜
Stiff arming a nice fish just seems to take away from a nice fish , NMO

If you're going to release a fish supporting the weight of the fish horizontally is better for the fish. They're used to being in water where their weight is compensated by the water. Probably not a walleye, but with a bass full of eggs or especially large trout, you can actually do damage by holding them vertically. It actually stretches their spinal column holding them vertically.

How many of you have held a big trout vertically and had it start bleeding?

All that said I prefer the horizontal for a picture too.
