have never seen or heard of anyone getting fined for putting out a mooring, pretty much every lake in the state has rafts out there with unregistered moorings. im thinking its more like doing 46 in a 45
Salt water moorings are by permit. I pay for mine in Maine annually.
my mooring sits in a clam flat in front of the house, nobody has ever looked at it or the dozen other moorings sitting on the flat. put it in the river or infront of someone elses house and there will be problems.
so after multiple different answers and lots of run around. Looks like my best option is to moor the boat. I theoretically can moor is wherever I want, like 3-5 feet away from the shore. Anyone have any suggestions on how much weight dry weight in concrete I would need for a 16 ft boat? Is mooring in 2-4 FOW fine to do in terms of my boat being ok? thanks for any help you can provide
I don’t know anything about it, but I wonder if the fact that it is so shallow may allow for the waves to move your weight/anchor. If it’s 10’ deep I bet you would be OK, but if it’s 3’ maybe the waves in a heavy storm would move the anchor?
