Good job on the catches guys, I myself havent been so lucky. Only day I could fish all week is today and its snowing, blowing and freezing out but I went anyway and got skunked. They either werent there or didnt want worms or shrimp. Looks like I'll have to have the leftover shrimp for lunch instead of fried bullheads >:(
done dirt cheap!

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I was eating some bullhead for dinner just now and thinking ....."I've been eating spring caught bullhead for more than 60 years. These taste as good as the first."

Mostly, I don't fry fish...but... bullhead are best breaded and pan fried.

I totally agree Bob.
I bake, broil, or grill 90% plus of all my fish.

But bullies get fried.

I like them on the grill too. Bread them as you normally would and hit them with some 0% fat cooking spray. Bake them on the Weber at 400 or so. Come out crispy and no excess oil to clog the arteries.

I also like to fillet some nd cook them in parchment paper with some Italian dressing and Franks Red Hot or Salsa.

This is making me hungry.

Nice job to those who've scored, and to those who braved the nasty weather. I decided to work on getting the boat and tackle in order, read a Grisham novel, and enjoy a few cocktails this weekend. It will become hectic soon enough. Plan on trying in a few days after the warm up. I don't know if I'm getting soft or wise?

Following the same train of thought, I'm gonna say wise.

Gonna give a try for couple bullheads ..

Likley Cayuga Lake  as is close evening drive after work

Have seen the crowd at the upper Cayuga lake state park fishing from the pier.   Are they always in shallows?

Worms?

Any tips appreciated.

Oil does not clog the arteries, it lubricates them. Lubrication is a key component of any good preventive maintenance program.
