Fishing in the Rain

Always seems to pay off. I had somewhat unsuccessful Saturday with only two brookies to show for a morning trip to the Swift followed by an afternoon float for pike on the housy. I decided to get right back on the horse Sunday morning. The forecast was for rain all day but that’s what waders and good rain jacket are for. I was at the river for 9 and quickly hooked and lost what felt like a nice fish. I moved around a bit until I found some fish. The first fish was a skinny brown. Then down stream from that I found a holding pool loaded w fish. I proceeded to land somewhere north of 25 fish with all but two being rainbows, the other two were browns.  The large majority were good sized fish in the 13-16 inch range with many of them displaying acrobatics when they were hooked.

Sure glad the girlfriend was snoring and I got my butt out of bed.
