Fall Lakers on sebago

(1/2) > >>

porkpiehat:
I'd like to have at least one weekend of togue jigging on Sebago this fall, but my past trips haven't been productive.

This time of year are they primarily feeding early mornings in the deep holes like winni, or are they catchable day round? I'm an awful early morning person lol. During winter I'd be trying 30' humps.

I really prefer jigging to trolling for them in open water but I'm willing to cast a wider net. Can anyone offer general advice for October?

I have a pedal kayak (which would be a blast) but can cover more water with my boat and Minnkota spotlock. I also have Livescope but honestly I haven't found it super helpful in open water.

Cheers and thanks...Might be up this weekend.

Depending on how quick lakes flip October can be tricky.  Lakers during spawn time are difficult to catch.  Not impossible but much harder.

Nothing against sebago but if you have a chance hit champlain instead.  Bite is still solid with some big fish mixed in.

85 fow.  Not specifically relating to humps all the time.  Inside turns in 85 fow has been solid.  Also if your livescope isnt tweaked right then they suck in deep water.  Once the settings are correct...good to go.  100% game change.  A lot of the most active lakers last couple weeks were suspended.  Some were only 15-25ft down.

Champlain intimidates me because it's so huge and I never have any idea where to go!

Are you talking about Champlain or Sebago? I'm curious about your livescope settings. I will probably mount mine LVS32 on a swiveling pole near the console. I just go a nice new 10" screen too.

Cheers

It'd take a while to go through them but have no issues.  Was talking champ specifically.
