Made it out with stinkybaits today for some vertical jigging action. We ended up with 40 today...lost several nice fish and had alot of short strikes. Smallest perch went 10.5" largest was 12.5" and all gills under 7 3/4" went back. Good day none the less.

Always a good time vertical fishing! Slayer didn't care for the cannonball split shot until he figured out you can knock the fish out when their not biting. Weight is the key for the deep water presentation and even in 20' it helps keep the line vertical so it shows up on the vexilar. Slayer was hooked he ordered a rod tonight after we were done. We stayed out late as usual and got yelled at when I got home as usual for staying out too late. Won't be the last time for sure!

Good choice! Might as well go with the best instead of us rookies.  ;)

I'm from FW as well, are you catching the perch close by?  I'm looking for a good perch spot before the winter hits.

Yes plenty of lakes within an hour drive. Monster perch in Lake James, Wawasee, pretty much everywhere there's perch. Just have to go deep 25'+ right now for the big ones. Small perch 20 on up kinda mixed in with the just ok gills and smaller from what were seeing.

Got out wish Fishslayer again we used the vexilar 28 pretty nice machine will be awesome for ice fishing. Rough day as usual weather people gave another bogus forecast! Sunny with 10mph winds out if the south south east became 20 mph winds directly out of the east! Oh well won't be the last trip planned of their forecasts sometimes it just happens that way! Anyhow managed to slam some hog perch! When they say East is the least that needs to be changed to East is when the BEAST FEAST! Always good just to get out regardless.
