Fishing for gills with spinners and caught this huge sunny....didn't have ruler but must have been at least 9.5"....put up a good fight as well. Released it.

Yea I saw that....I think that 5.5# was caught on the santee...we cross part of that when we go to Florida.

Took my friend and his wife gill chasin'.  She caught as many on her 18" Ice Blue rod/spring bobber/ice jig as we did on the long rods.  Boat load of fun!

funny you mention  the rat I was  going threw all the  things people  sent me over the years from  flies and leaders from  bob  to jigs  and   some of icejohns secrets I came across  a bunch of spinners the rat sent me  and a parts list to build them ...... he sent me others and I took them to salmon river caught a small mouth one them and hang them in my collection .....he sure loved to share ....if there is  better people out there I never met them ...

Yes rat is sorely missed. . I fished the partdridge run ponds today. . Rat use to fish them and shared alot of info about the area with me. .  8). . Mostly panfish in them. . Caught some gills and crappie. . I hope he was up there watching. . All fish we're c/r. .
