I have a 2007 lund explorer 1600. I looking into using a downrigger
on my boat. Does anyone use there lund track system to attach a bracket for
a downrigger ? If so pros and cons of it. I am looking at the cannon uni-troll
10 stx . This will be my 1st downrigger . Any help would be great thanks

Lund makes a downrigger bracket for the sports track. I have used 2 for 9 years with no issues. I run electric riggers so there pretty stout.

This is just a personal preference but I like to have my downriggers mounted to something more solid than the gunnels. I have aluminum plates that are mounted on the deck. Then there are aluminum backer bars under the plywood.

This is how they are mounted on an Impact.



These were on a 1625 Rebel XL.
