Many moons ago there was a young buck private stationed at Ft. Greeley, a lonely outpost outside Delta Junction Alaska. His limited freetime, (those hours between peeling spuds in the chow hall and torturous guard duty which included keeping the bears out of the trash cans), was spent fishing the many local lakes prevalent to the area. Back in 57' the bears used to wrestle you for your catch. Carrying a high powered rifle was commonplace, (didn't hurt for landing those giant rainbows either.) Today Quartz Lake is a quite little tourist lake which supports a variety of cold water gamefish. It's beauty is still present, but pictures can't capture it's true awe inspiring scenery! So I'll just have to invite the ol' private up for a trip out to the lake. Until then Keith, enjoy the photos! -Jim
