35lb laker out of lake st. catherine today?
« on: Jun 15, 2013, 06:20 PM »
was out in the canoe this morning and there was a guy down by that state park launch claiming to have caught a 35lb laker. he was looking to see who had a certified scale to get it officially weighed. we were about 50-60 yards away when he was holding it up but it didn't look anything close to 35, maybe 15. just wondering if anyone saw it or heard anything about it?

I got the scoop today from a very reliable source.

32 inches long
30 inch girth
30 pounds
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
The brook trout is the prom queen of the trout world, and a promiscuous prom queen at that!

this sounds a lot more like it. the fish didn't appear to have the girth that was posted. i knew i was a little ways away but something like that you'd know. thanks for the update. nice fish either way

all fish "weigh " a lot more before they hit the certified scales.
Not picking on anybody, that is just the way it went when we had a set of certified scales in the shop.
