NYC Reservoir Kayak Anglers
« on: Apr 02, 2017, 06:11 AM »
:flag: Hey everyone, new to this site and looking to chat with fellow anglers. I mostly fish the Pepacton and my boat, obviously is a Kayak. This topic isn't only limited to Kayak Anglers, so all you row boaters feel free to comment and are certainly welcome to join any discussions. Fishin' is fishin', you know what I mean!! what I am hoping to get is how people who do use a kayak, on the reservoirs, are dealing with the way the NYCDEP folks are running the recreational boating Program and their lack of recognition that Kayak Angling is distinctly different from just recreational boating!!!

Welcome..
Im From Pa...
I have 3 boats on Cannonsville and 1 on downsville(Pepacton).
My boat is in the Hollow onnPepacton.
I enjoys these Dams very much.
Great Spring Trout Bite.
And some of the best Smallie Fishing in the Area.
The Fall Smallie bite is Insane..
Ive been fishing these dams siince i was 17.ill be 55 this summer.
I fish Cannonsville mostly beause it is closer to me and the Upper Delaware where i do alot of trout fishing.
I like to hit the Damvin the morning and then the river in the evening.
i have a extra boat in my yard.
im planning on putting it on.
The Roundout or Neversink.
havent made up my mind as of yet.
the lure of the Lakers has me thinking!!!
I am hoping to do a long weekend this year with my Yak.
It will be a first with the Yak on one of these Dams.
They give us a 5 day.pass after the powerwashing.
Im really looking foreward to it.
Im not sure on a date.
I cant wait for one of those big browns to pull me around in the yak.
Pm me if you are interested in meeting for a trip out in the Yak.
Im 1 hr.20 minutes from Cannonsville and about a half hour further to Pepacton.
Im glad there are a few guys on this site that fish the NY Dams.
I have a buddy on Pepacton now as i am typing this.
He is trolling.
He stopped at Als thismorning and Al told him not many fish were hooked yesterday.
I was heading to Cannonsville yesterday to do some shore fishing with Cleos but,it was snowing and icing when i got up.
Im planning on going this coming saturday.
Good Luck.
I hope we can keep this Thread Going.
Chez.

I don't understand what you are asking or getting at. They are working on extending the season from 5/1 to 10/31. You don't have to only be a fisherman to enjoy the longer season. Many others will take advantage of it, especially in the fall.
