Not Fishing but almost as good
« on: Oct 26, 2020, 08:41 AM »
I can’t seem to buy a pike and posting pics of perch and dace aren’t really that exciting so instead here is some pulled pork I made yesterday. I guess the third time is the charm. The first two I did just didn’t pull apart like I wanted. Using charcoal and a mix of hickory and apple wood chunks, it’s not always that easy to keep a consistent temp. I decided to do it at a hotter temp and for shorter time. It still took until about 730 before I pulled it apart but it was worth the wait.  The patriots almost made me lose my appetite but I still choked down way more than I should have. Hopefully the pike show up soon.

Looks good and let's go.

Maybe this weekend.  I take off for NY the 6th so I'll see what the warden says.

Looks yummy!

What beer, wine or other "legal beverage" did you pair it with?

Looks really good!  Shoulder or butt?  Dry rub?

Thank you! It was a butt.  Used mustard so the rub sticks to the meat better and then just some apple bbq rub that I had in the spice drawer.  Then let the smoke do the rest.

Jim surprisingly no libations were had with this meal.  I had enough making it so just water to wash it down.
