What A Nice Day!

Took a day off from "work" and went fishing. Got on the water right about 5 am . The canal was a carpet of cottonwood seed. Couldn't troll at all so went to plan "B" and caught some crappies, gills and a few nice perch. It got really warm....near 80 and I quit around noon.
Came home, mowed both properties and relaxed with my Bride under the maple tree. A couple cold porters, food on the Weber.........what a nice day!

Got up to maybe 72-73 today on Erie.
No clouds.
Stellar day for sure.
Did some more work on the place and finished the book I had intended to finish earlier in the week.
Sitting at a pot luck dinner (slash) meeting right now.
Places are still under water but somehow we will find a way to have a fire tonight.

Such a nice August Saturday. 80, low humidity, cleaned all the windows, took he trash to the dump, mowed and trimmed, gardened, cuke and tomato sandwich from the garden for lunch, Yankees won the first of a double header, Zweigles on the grill for supper, York peppermint patties and bourbon for desert.........
What a nice day. Hope all had as good a day.

It was a perfect day, despite working. I took a wonderful nappiepoo after work, then went out to the garden and harvested a boat load of pickles and peas, tomatoes are loaded but stubbornly still green. Cukes are being eaten daily, and I'm infatuated with Zoodles.... I made more last night using cream cheese and garden fresh garlic and herbs instead of borsin and it was amazing, paired with Venison and cuke salad again. I could eat that every day and some days twice. Going to try a "Vegettie" pie as soon as I get some Roma's to ripen. Prime rib dinner tonight at the in-laws for Lisa's birthday, 27 zucchini on the table, might just bring a few over to be kind

What bourbon were you enjoying RG? I recently started enjoying some myself. Good stuff if you pick the right one.
