Finally had a chance to wet a line. I have been reading all the reports but we fish because that's what a fisherman does even in tough times. I decided I would troll with leadcore and flicker shads hoping for the reaction bite. I managed one 17" eye and a shorty. Two 2 1/2lb smallies and 3 perch. Not a bad day.

Has the bite picked up yet on Oneida or should I keep chasing 10 pounders? 8)

We were going out this afternoon but glad we monitored the radar and decided to stay home.  My God how it poured in Central Square! Much needed rain so no complaints.  Going out early tomorrow and giving it hell will report good or bad.

No good news to report on the fishing.  Went out of Godfrey Point around 7am and trolled worm harnesses for about 3 hours not a hit.  Marked fish all over the place but nothing would bite.  Many new floating weeds were a pain in the neck and didnt help matters any.  Nice morning on the lake though beat going to work.

Thanks elrod, we had similar results on Saturday. Marked both fish and bait, weeds weren't to bad for us that day. As F&R has suggested we did add a clip weight helping to keep weeds off of lure. Something did smash my wife's rod, she thought she hooked bottom, until she reeled up a lure with a scale attached. (sheep ?)  When the wind picked up I jigged up a few whites and gobbies. On a good note, the boat is running great.
