I'm gonna break it in Oneida this year.  Gonna catch that 13 lber that was in the hatchery last year.  After a year at the "all you can eat gobie buffet" she must be 20 lbs by now!!! ;D

Yup, that about sums it up, nice.  ;D

What's the shoreline water temp on Oneida you guys.
I checked Otisco the other night and it was 42 degrees!
Too cold for spawning alewives right now...

That would be close to a state record too before it spawned.

Just found this on the net...preferred water temp for Walleyes to spawn...

"Water temperature plays a key role. Even here, ideal temperatures vary by latitude. Southern walleyes prefer spawning temperatures between 48°F and 50°F, while their Yankee cousins and Canadian counterparts favor temperatures between 44°F and 48°F. Jun 2, 2011"

48* +/-  is what I've always read and seen fishing Otisco for the last few years

"the Alewife spawns @51* I just read...

I guess I never tested the water temp when the alewifes or is it alwives, were swirling around in little groups doing their thing in little circles.
Why test the temp when I could see them spawning...and then, POP! there goes a walleye slashing one in half! Lol

Good fishing people, looks like a good year for BIG fish!
