Small Boat Bass Waters
« on: Feb 27, 2005, 11:54 AM »
Anybody have any ideas for smaller lakes with good bass populations within, oh, 25 miles of Westerlo? On the Greene/ Albany County Line, have been going to ponds and streams, and Thompsons, looking for something new. Pike and or trout would be a nice bonus, but definately not neccesary.  Thanks guys! ;D

Here are a few I fish
Warners
Onerdonk
Myosotis
white birch
Thompsons
Lawsons
There are 3 or 4 ponds in the partridge run area all small bass.
We use a 12 foot alum. with a trolling motor. What are you using.
Green lake in Greene county is fun but it a time consuming lake.

Well, I can probably bike to Lawsons, lol.
I'll probably go in the old 17 foot Grumman canoe, its fine for Thompsons, whick is one of the biggest of the local waters.
I don't know how to get access to Onderdonk, I though it was private...
I want to fish White Birch, train dogs there in the summer...any good sized fish in there?
Does Warners have better bass fishing than Thompsons? Fished it once in the winter, it was slow. Does anyone catch the brookies in there? Have the eyes gotten bigger than 12" yet?
Thanks for the reply forgot about White Birch... :P

I'd like to hook up with someone on white birch, too. I'll bring my 17' grumman with trolling motor. I here there at tons of toothy pickeral.  8) We'll hook up sometime in the spring or summer.  8)

6lb test, light action 5' cherrywood, or ultra-light 4-1/2' rod and they are fun.  ;)
Is there anything of size in any of the lake in partridge run?

My guess is nothing huge, but probably alot of small picks, bass and gills. 5' UL setup, 15" pickerel are alot of fun! What about like a 5 weight flyrod?

I wanna fish the Alcove!! :'( ;D
