Title: bruce lake
Post by: fishersofmen on Apr 07, 2004, 10:33 PM
went to bruce lake today...did well...21 gills...all males...about 1/2 were 8-9"... got skunked right off...drifted the main part of lake several times all the way across w/o a hit...a local suggested i try the sandy beach area on west side..the docks...i tried them w/o a hit...so decided to head to bass lake...got off the channel near the boat launch and into the muck...and saw gills all over the place so decided to fish for them...got quite a few right there...mostly in 6-9" of water....don't think it was even a ft deep....best jig was the smallest black ratfinkee...#10?....tipped with a waxy....they really seemed to like that one...my nuclear ants got a few but i kept missing bites...went to the smaller jig and got many more hook-ups....continued workin the shallows and gradually got a mess of fish...never really hot...spent the whole day there...had a lot of fun...steve
