Title: Whats the difference

When dealing with florocabon line, what is the difference between leader floro and spool filler floro? I see where guys say there are big differences but never really say what they are. The only real difference I see is just the price.

Abrasion resistence I believe.  I don't know from personal experience but I have heard the leader material is much more abrasion resistant.  I know fly guys who insist on tying their own leaders and only use the leader material and start at like 20lb leader and tie it down to 12lb for steelies.

I have used both and it is all about abrasion resistance...
