Same holds true for rut. Appears here in VT the deer rut is later and they should look at adjusting hunting seasons because of it.
1st week of October archery season is a joke with summer like conditions...November firearm season seems to me is off by at least 2 weeks with peak rut in recent years.

Don't get me started on early ice, just seems the last decade it's hard to find early ice in late November/early December, last year earliest safe ice was on inland ponds around Christmas.

I been told the rut has to do with length of day. Has Global  warming effected the day Length???

yes length of day plays a role in rut, but so does temperature

Here in NY, trout season in most streams and lakes used to close Sept. 30th now most are open until Oct. 15.just saying.
Swampking89...do you happen to know the reason the state moved the closing date to Oct 15th?
