I caught this nice bass in search of perch on a local river. I didnt find any perch but caught a couple more smallies any where from 14-18 inches.

our season dose not open untill the first and we will not have open water untill some time after that

Still waiting for the inland lakes to open up as well.  I'm getting antsy though and can't wait too much longer...

i wish i could get out for some gills or perch but there is no safe ice. anywhere. there is also no open water except for a few back country streams. my first one was a c&r rainbow but i didn't have the camera with me. I'm gonna go out again today so maybe I'll get a picture.

Thanks guys.  Heck of a first fish of for 2008.  I figure somewhere around 10-12 lbs.  She took a while on 6 lb. line and in the current....

Nice first fish of the year. I got into a couple steelies yesterday,but only got one in. I didnt have a camera me to take a pic. I will next time though.
