I'm seething, Dom. Nice pictures of livin' large!  ;D

The coolest thing I've added for the GoPro is the app for my phone.  It connects the phone and camera via wifi and let's you see what the camera sees and control it from your phone. Look into it.  You'll love it!   :thumbup_smilie:

There's a time lag due to the wifi I'm not crazy about though.

Controlling the GoPro from my iPhone Works pretty well out to about 100 yards or so. Never tried it under water. The wifi does drain the battery faster. I added a 200 mah external battery to keep it going longer. It gets a little complicated sometimes.

Rg

It does drain batteries, but I carry six spare GoPro batteries and a charging bank for the phone if I'm going for any length of time. I've even been considering a small solar charger for extended backwoods trips.  The extra, unnecessary weight in my pack is mostly what's discouraged me.   ;D

The time lag is there, but at least you can see where the camera is aimed, see what you've recorded, and delete crap footage before you get home. It's also much easier to hit the record button on the phone than to fumble around trying to hit the right button on your head, chest, or a mount behind you.  ;D

All true. The big battery works great. I've yet to kill it and it charges in the car pretty quickly.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I'm still not fond of the cell phone as a remote.
Gopro needs to make one.

BTW, mine is only a Hero 4 Session.
I understand the 5 is killer though.
Greater resolution and image stabilizer is worth it.
also has advanced wind noise reduction and voice activation.
Not sure if voice activation will eliminate need for remote?!?!??

I have a remote for mine as well as the app for iPhone. The remote works well for controlling the camera functions.

I've considered the remote with a wrist band. Just one more GP trinket to buy.  :whistling:

Dom, do you guys ferry in the massive wood pile or find dead wood, cut, and split it there?    ;D
