Some Fall N.Pike Questions
« on: Sep 22, 2008, 01:35 PM »
I was hoping to get a little bit of information regarding Pike behavior in the fall.  The water temps here in NH are fluctuating between 62-71 from morning to afternoon respectively.  We are expecting consistent weather in the 60's to very low 70's over the next week.  I don't know how much lower the water temps will go.

What temperature do you find pike start moving shallow for the fall feed?

If the water temps are too high mid-day, do they still move shallow early to mid morning and mid to late evening to feed?

Does the water temperature affect their level of aggression?  In other words, if they do move shallow to feed in spite of the warmer water, will they actively chase baitfish when hungry regardless of water temp?

Just looking for some of your thoughts and observations.  Thanks :)
