Long Rod Chronicles
« on: Apr 19, 2019, 09:13 AM »
Things are firing up.  The large brown and the bright brown lacked elastomers and had intact adipose fins so likely wild to the river where they were caught.  The rest were eager stockies.

Nice work Jon.

Whats next after the long rod for you? Togs? My boats are uncovered and ready to go.

Some real nice fish for the long rod. Fly fishing can be so relaxing.

What are those golden covered fish?  I don't think I've ever seen one like that before.

Beautiful fish!

But what the heck is an "elastomer"?  It sounds vaguely kinky.

Great work Jon. I’ve yet to head down that way. Been focusing on the freestones while the flows allow. Got a nice rainbow in the middle branch of the Westfield this AM n had several other takes.  It’s maybe the most scenic branch IMO.  Stoneflies are the name of the game right now.

This should help...

In CT the stocked trout get an elastomer that allows fishery bios to determine what year it was stocked.  On the farmington its important so they can differentiate trout that reproduced naturally vs. Holdovers.

Nice job Pat and Mike (I'm ready for Tog, hit me up).  I think they call the bright ones palmino's.
