Well headed out late morning today with the wife to do some fishing.  On the way there I got this picture of a muskrat eating his breakfast.

With the rain on saturday and the slight drop in temp from friday the crappies weren't even close to biting the same today.   :-\   I managed to catch 4 crappies and a couple perch.  My wife ended up with a perch.  Here is a picture of me with a crappie.  All were released.

After hearing they stocked the local trout pond I decided to head out and fish the last couple hours of dark.  I managed to get this brookie and lost another at the shore.  Looks like I will be having a little redneck surf and turf tomarrow night for diner, venison and trout on the grill.....yyyyyyuuuuuuuummmmmm    ;D

Oh Lord,
There he is.
Feels like a big one.
Please don’t let me lose him.
I’ve never caught one this big before.
I’ll try not to horse him.
And if I land him I promise to release him
And make a graphite replica...
If my wife says it’s okay.
Thank you for the Rapalas.
Amen.

Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

Well I headed out after work tonight to a local trout pond.  I wasn't sure if I was going to have any luck because of the wind, cold and snow that was coming down when I got there.  :-\  But what the Heck, I was just there to be outdoors after a stressfull day at work.  :(  Anyway as for the fish not hitting boy was I wrong.  In about a 45 minutes time I lost 4 fish and caught my limit.  After having that one for the grill the other night as a teaser I decided to keep 5 for the grill for a full dinner...  ;D

Tim , they are stocked brookies.  The biggest was 12 1/4 and the rest were in the 10" area.  I have a spot for native brookies but the biggest you get is like 6" , but man do they have beautiful colors.

Nice pictures dwaytkus, the muskrat is a neat shot and the crappie and brookies are nice, neat colors on them really blue.
They should make a good meal indeed. :)

Well I just couldn't resist after the action last night, so I headed back to the trout pond today after work and managed a few and kept these three.  I think this weekend I will have to go in search of some stream rainbows and browns.
