Boxing Day Rainbow
« on: Dec 26, 2023, 03:17 PM »
I fished the East Housatonic in Dalton for about an hour and a half late this morning/early this afternoon.

The weather, which had been quite foggy earlier in the morning, was partly sunny, with temps in the low 40's.

After fishing without success below the Depot Street dam, and then again below the Housatonic Street dam, I drove upstream to Hinsdale Road and tried  a little ways above the Old Stone Mill condominiums.

After about 15 minutes or so, I hooked into a frisky 9" rainbow with beautiful bright colors, and managed to reel it in - - but that was my only strike.

After giving it another 10 minutes or so, I decided to call it a day and drove home, where (after a late lunch) I celebrated by reading "Pass of Fire" by Taylor Anderson out on my deck and smoking a Don Augusto cigar.

Nice going, I would have thought the water would have been too high, but maybe you did not get as much rain as we did here in central MA. The Destroyermen Men is a fun Series.
