SALMON RIVER 2013 SALMON AND STEELHEAD THREAD
« on: Jan 03, 2013, 10:11 AM »

Well were another year older and another season is in the books and what an unusual one it was.. Drought conditions have plagued the area since our snowless 2011-12 winter   It was a very low water year starting in April and lasting straight through Salmon Season and into Steelhead season... Highlights of the year were the incredible dropback season in April and early May ,an "Epic" September Salmon run that rivaled the Great "Run of the century in 98", and the Monster 3 day Steelhead run caused by the increase water flow ahead of "Sandy"...
There was some lulls and some crowded conditions as the River seams to get more popular every season, but all and all it was a dynamic season.. We have now temporarely caught up on water and are enjoying a great beginning to our Winter steelhead season, I hope everyone learned a few things and enjoyed the pictures and hope everyone has a very prosperous and successful 2013 season... Snagger...

Got down to 7 below zero last night, but with a 750 flow, slush should not be a problem from about sportsmans pool and upriver after sun works on the air a bit..

Cold big moon from the other night...

.

This past September 12’ Salmon season was definitely an epic season.  Fantastic run even with the low water conditions.  Great steelheading as well.  I saw some really nice sized fish being taken from the river.  I am certainly looking forward to seeing what this 2013 year is going to bring!!

I’ll be up this Saturday to hopefully kick off my 2013 season with some nice Chrome!!

Tight lines…

A goby in Hawaii that can climb waterfalls over 100' in height. Wonder if any of our gobies can do anything like that. If they can it'll be a foregone conclusion they'll spread pretty much everywhere

Any thoughts on the water change? Not going to warm as much as previously predicted?

Only time will tell Jason, snowmelts a tricky game, alot compacted today, roofs slid off in the warm temps.  Theres a good 20-30 inch base on the Tug, but thats not alot for them, 2 warm days and nights with rain and were in the 1800cfss business or higher.

If I had too guess, it goes back to 750 Thursday.
