river eyes

what do you guys use for eyes in the rivers, just a jig with a twister tail?

I know the rivers we fish up here we use jigs and minnow or twister tails also pull crankbaits. Also shore fisherman use pikeral rigs with shinners and catch walleyes like crazy.

In a boat I use a jig head and minnow pretty much exclusively and from shore, a pikeral rig as Hoghammer said.

Lindy rigs can also be very good for them.
Slip bobber fishing and ice lounger.
