Hey guys, I thought the state fish this year were all larger than normal for the stockings? Whats with the 7 inch trout in Clinton? Natural reproduction? Any fin clips? I would send a email to the state and ask what they think.

Oh yeah, great day, sounds like they were chewing and you were in the right place at the right time.

some times the state has surplus fish and they stock . i was on monksville
a few years back when they still stocked trout. they dumped 20,000 2 inch
brook trout that day . i asked what was the reason they told me they needed room
at the hatchery.

In reference to the first two posts when I mark fish but not under the boat that means they are moving away from the boat and/or up high. I typically use planer boards or long flat lines when that happens. There is a lake I troll  that is so clear the fish do this even in deeper water. A downrigger rarely gets a hit while the planer board bring 'em in.
