Title: Really old fishing lure info.
Post by: Water Wolf on Jul 12, 2012, 04:54 PM
Hi all,
This year the community where I live has been restoring a local church {The Stone Church}.

This church was built in 1888 and at that time the pioneers of the area installed a time capsule in a corner wall of the church and there it has sat, until now. :o
It was opened yesterday {July 11th} in a public event with, various news papers and T.V stations here in SK.

All the contents were sealed in what looks like a baking power can and a few items in a bottle with a cork and wax. There were various news papers in the capusle as well as documents, and things of interest, all from that period. 8)

I found them all very interesting, but one news paper article in particular caught my interest. It was from the Calgary Tribune news paper in 1888 and it was talking about the latest fishing lures.

It seems that fishing lures have always been a topic for discussion, even way back then. ;D
