St. Mary's River between Sault Ste. Marie and Lake Huron. Actually it's called Munoscong Bay, south of Barbeau, MI. Middle of September, very cold and wicked wind.

Trolling 10 feet behind my boat right through the weedbeds with a Creek Chub Pikie that I modified to troll at 4.5 mph.  Hit like a freight train, bending my 7' Musky Rod in half!!  Thank heavens for SpiderWire braid, Fenwick rods, and Abu Garcia drags!!!

Over 49" long, I have no idea how much it weighed, though. The camp we stayed at had no scales, and I had none myself. Should have gotten it weighed on certified scales, I was just so excited that I drove into town, bought a 162 qt. cooler and Jim Beam.

As much as I dared to, I had a buddy skin it loosely so it could be mounted. First and LAST Muskie that I will keep.

Fished all week, not a single muskie, just Pike.

Last morning, buddy and I started to troll as the others in our group said, 10' behind the boat, high speed, right through the weedbeds.

Didn't believe it was possible, but we started trolling before we left the river channel, headed into the bay. Not even 5 minutes and my buddy had a 38" muskie in the boat. Let that one go, started trolling some more. 30 minutes later, I started a 20 minute battle with the Loch Ness Monster (it's the biggest thing I have ever caught in my 34 years of fishing)
