I just bought a house on the erie canal in hulberton I was wondering if the fishing is good in this section. And if any one has tips
-
You can cast small stick baits along the shore in the summer and catch bass, rockbass, and pike. There are walleye in there too. The canal is also loaded with sheepshead, carp, catfish and suckers.

Cool I've fished spots on the canAL before. Just never in this area
-
They are filling it today when do the fish spread through the system
-
I used to take the canoe and cast senkos a little west of there. Non stop bass action, rarely large but always fun. Cat puke color seemed to work well.
-
That's good to hear. Right after the fill it does it take awhile for the fish to show up
-
Pretty sure it does. It was always more or less summer when I went in the evenings after work.
-
Went last night got 12 rockies and a silver perch. Hope the catfish show up soon love them
