The coho have finally arrived here at the field camp, they have been getting them 20 miles downstream at the fish wheels which is a different Fish & Game project. It's a big river system and they don't all end up here, tried fishing down there but the water is way too muddy. Got this nice male on my 8wt flyrod, starting to turn red.

Also still catching good numbers of Dolly Varden, they are starting to spawn and the males are coloring up, too.

Living the dream JJ.
Sweet!!!

We just booked our Alaska cruise for 2025.
Sails out of San Fran on 9/13/25
11 days.
3 stops - Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway

I'm taking a couple rods and my waders for sure.

Thanks Mac. I took a cruise in 2019 with the same 3 stops but only 8 days out of Seattle. You will pass by Haines on the way to Skagway, the White River Railroad is pretty cool there, nice ride up into the mountains. Not sure you will find any fishing that won't require some form of transportation to get to in those ports, maybe sea run Dolly Varden in the harbors. Your best bet will probably be a charter.

Yup
I figured I would need to pay.
But I’m not going to Alaska and not fish.  I’m already investigating guides, etc.

Thanks!

Went out for a couple hours yesterday morning for smallmouths and couldn’t keep the nuisance fish off the line.. But did catch a bunch of smallmouths…

They started late but getting a good run of coho coming up the creek into Chilkat lake to spawn this year, really enjoying catching on a fly rod...

Still getting a lot of bright sockeye coming through also, our count is over 106K and should break 130K for the season. They are chasing down the fly and biting as I strip line in like the coho, and I have to say found for pound they are much better fighters. I keep most of these and 2 of the silver cohos, need to vacuum seal a bunch of filets today.
