Had a good run for my final week at the field camp, lots of nice coho and still catching sockeye including some bright ones for the freezer. May be able to get out one last time on Monday when we start breaking things down for the winter. Our latest count is over 126,000 sockeye and 4,000 coho through the weir so far, way more than last year.

These ones weren't at the  field camp. First time I foul hooked the first one and a harbor seal grabbed it and broke the line, less than an hour later I got it to bite and got my fly back...

Escaped 3 times in the past few weeks.

1st trip Champlain, I launched at South Bay in Whitehall where I used to fish a lot as a kid. Nice to have the whole launch (and lake) to yourself in the fall. Caught about 20 bass in 5 hours of fishing, all on the drop shot rig.

Next trip my wife wanted fish tacos so I hit another local lake I fished when I was young and was happy to see that it's still loaded with nice panfish.

Last trip was to the Catskills with the flyrod on a foggy morning and did well until the fog lifted, then it was tough going. Caught about 10 small ones like this:

And one big one,

Next trip will be saltwater, love fall fishing.
