Title: Fathers Day Presents
Post by: PikeKing23 on Jun 23, 2020, 01:26 PM
Finally got a decent fish!  It's been an entire year of open water, an entire year of ice fishing, and all of this open water season without a pike over 36".  These fish were very rewarding as I had switched up tactics and tried a new rig.  I found a way to start fooling them again!  Downsized everything (except bait), but especially my bobber size.  I went to a panfish size bobber to basically just keep track where my bait was.  The pike have been spitting out my bait when they feel the bobber's resistance, often without even pulling the bobber under.  I would routinely bring back a hammered bait and never even knew the pike was there.  Definately a good feeling to be back in the game, again.  Enjoy

Good stuff.  I have seen plenty of pike that size behind my lures but have not deployed baits.
