I am going to my parents camp for Fathers Day on Willsboro Point, on the West side of Champlain, just south of the 4 Brothers Islands and directly across form Burlington.  I took him Laker fishing last year with a guide out of the Willsboro Marina.  We had our limit in about 45 minutes, but all of them had a scar from  lamprey, if not a nasty lamprey hanging right off of it.  Most of the lamprey let go as soon as they were pulled out of the water, just to slither around on the deck and meet the heel of a boot.  The damage was unbelievable, some of the scars were up to a 4 or 5 inch diameter.  Too bad the cormorants don't eat the lamprey...

Oh, the Lamprey's are way out of control there. When we fished it a few years back, we would catch lakers with multiple live lampreys on them. Some had serious holes and scares. The only "clean" fish we caught all weekend was an 18" steelhead and one smallmouth.  But all of the 20+ lakers we landed had lamprey scares.
