18 miles or so south.  Iso's coming off so they are moving a bit to nab the nymphs.  Starting to get the instant hookups when the flies land.  Iso's move fast when they hatch so the trout have been supercharged!  Many of the brookies Ive caught are lacking the elastomers so either are wild to the farmington or the elastomer fell out.

I've been seeing others on social media catching huge ones as well.  Almost seems the further south you go in CT, the more wild trout there are, especially brookies.

Midweek fishing has been tough for me lately.  You get out trolling at all?

Yesterday was ok.  Fished new water and was rewarded with some fat rainbows and a pair of wild browns.  Watch out for elitism from the dry fly crowd.  They can be very overbearing.

We drifted 4-5 miles of the river...6 browns for me.  One large one that took me downriver quite a ways!

Nice looking fish!

It sounds like you covered quite a bit of water.

Beautiful fish Jon.  Curious what you drifted in?  Was it a fiberglass/aluminum drift boat a raft style?  I've been looking at raft style ones but they sure aren't cheap.

Canal was no fun this weekend.  Spent about 20 hours on the water and I saw two 20 inch fish landed.  Amazing how the crowds thin out as soon as the reports calm down.

This Pat:

Nucanoe. Worked well.  Very difficult river to fish and wade.  Lots of it looks fishy but only certain spots hold them.  Overall there's a lack of structure and few bugs.  Saw only one rise.  Despite reports of them taking small nymphs the #8 rubber legs was the ticket.

Heard the fishing there froze up.  Nature of the beast.  10 years ago there was always bass there.

Very neat.  I never really use my kayak in river systems.  I might need to give it a try.

Spent close to 20 hours on the canal since Friday and Friday was the last day with fish caught. Lost a nice one Friday evening.  Saturday morning shoulder to shoulder and my buddy next to me got one around 20lbs on a jig. Only fish caught out of the 200 people I could personally see on Saturday. Sunday was nonexistent.
