Trout on the Shawsheen,but no second turkey yet. 5/7

[The Jigger]

Well got home from turkey hunting about 1:00 yesterday with no luck. The only tom I saw was the one Pike King showed at the bird feeder.
I got some rest and took my ultra light to my back yard and fished the Shawsheen at 6:30. I immediately hooked up on a single power bait with a snap swivel only for weight. A nice rainbow about 14". I hooked up to some river dace, one about 9" long and hooked and lost a couple of more rainbows.
At dark it all of a sudden turned on. From 8:15 to 8:25 I hooked and landed two more 14 and 15 inch fish and released another three. They really became aggressive at dark and the fight was extraordinary. A great two hours of fishing to end my day.

I was using a #8 snelled hook with a small snap swivel and drifted a single power bait, drifting it from in front of me (not upsream) downstream and kept repeating the process. When they hit it you knew it especially after dark. oh the color of the power bait didn't seem to matter. Pink,orange and yellow. Got them on all three.
