Yak striper(s)
« on: May 20, 2014, 03:16 PM »
Well first attempt this year to go for some stripers on the north shore.  It was go for some stripers or go after "stockies".  It was a no brainer, catching stocked trout is fine don't get me wrong, but nothing lives up to the bend in a rod when the stripers are around.  So I had 2 hrs to play with since I had to be my daughters "play date" in the afternoon 8)

Fished the incoming tide on Saturday with a tube n worm and the schoolies were eating them up.  No keepah's but a lot of fun none the less.  My choice to hit the salt was well worth it and I'm sure there are some cows in the mix as the water is above 50deg.  Time to get into them!

nicely done!
I had an invite to go down out of Nauset Harbor Saturday morning before....a daughter engagement in the afternoon  :) which will be fun but it's the 5 hours of driving for 3 or 4 hours of fishing I'm juggling with.....I'll probably go  ;D

Looks like lots of fun.  Maybe I'll have to add a new item on my wish list.  Yaks are cool!

Nice!  I'm gonna get a stripah this year.  Already knocked off one of my goals the elusive "Chu fish".

Very true, its a mindset.  Nothing beats the thrill of getting a "sleigh ride"
