Made it out for some Gill action this weekend. Took my daughter out for the first time. She helped me reel in several fish. We had a blast!!

Nice job, it's always an adventure taking the kids out. Great job on that.
Do you like the 899? I just picked one up and am trying to learn how to use it. I only had a chance to fish with mine once, but I was fishing a crappie tournament and didn't want to spend too much time messing around with it. From what I saw so far it looks like they have a lot of potential.

The 99 HD series are sweet. I'd recommend the HD transducer upgrade to go with it if you haven't already. There's a pretty good sight called the Technological Angler. There's some good dvds and the Facebook page always has some pretty good info. Just Google the name comes right up. It's Humminbird based only from what I've seen.

I bought a used unit with 12 hours on it, basically brand new. The guy had already upgraded the transducer.

Thanks guys!! Yes I really like the 899 HD. Still in the learning curve process. I also have a 1199 HD on the console with the Terrova Ipilot motor....courtesy of Stinky! He actually bought this boat last year(and decked it out) then traded it in a month ago on a Demo ZV18 that was decked out with Onix 10's and lithium Ion 12v batteries.

I just picked it up last week, we used it all weekend. Substantial upgrade for me being my previous boat was 25yrs old. Got to meet Randy Vandam, really nice guy!! D & R sports is a awesome outfitter up by Kalamazoo, if you ever get that way stop in!

At least Slayer is fishing.... I'm stuck in North Carolina being converted into a craft beer drinker. :sick: :sick: :sick: :sick: I'd rather drink the slime out of my cooler than the majority of the craft beers so far. However there was a bourbon barrel aged beer that was dang tasty but it's limited supply of 4 cans per person per year??!! I give up finally find a killer good one and they have a waiting list plus those that get it only get 4???!!! That's just wrong!!! I'm sticking with my scotch and water beer. I'll post some fishing pics tommorow off the pier if I decide to get off the lounge chair off the beach. I'm hoping not to see any more growlers while on vacation unless it's a growling fish!

Thanks fellas. It sure is nice to have a decent boat to take the wife and kid out. Catching fish was just a bonus. I am excited my daughter enjoyed reeling in the fish...it was a great time! Just need to teach her how to cast now. :)
Stnky's new rig rides like a Cadillac...40mph over 3-4ft waves feels like a mild chop in that boat.
