We are planning a one week trip in early May to fish for walleye and pike somewhere in Ontario, Canada. We usually only fish in July for LMB and SMB down in southern Ontario. We would like a cabin for at least 5 guys. We will bring our own boats and equipment. Any suggestions on where we should book?

Marr's Perch Lake Lodge.

On the Seine river system.  Excellent walleye, pike, perch, and smallmouth fishing.  Sweet cabins, restaurant/bar.  Boat docks are nice.  Several nice lakes on this system all the way down to the dam.  Lots of flooded timber too.

If you go, concentrate on the four corners area, banning lake, diversion, sunshine bridge, and I bay.  In banning there is a little rocky island that just has one little tree growing out of it.  Every pass netted us either an eye or a smallie.

If you want pike, go under the train tracks into little McCaulley lake.  The pike are everywhere, but this lake has a lot of weeds and the pike are nice in there.

Good luck.

I would check your walleye season where you go. Allot of lakes in Ontario are closed to walleye in early May.

Perch bay resort, winnipeg river Kenora. Affordable rates, O.K. accomodations. 100 Walleye days are common 1min out of resort. Small walleyes mixed in with perch, pike and bass. Not many huge fish but the action for walleyes is the best you can find for a drive to.
