« on: Feb 18, 2004, 09:14 AM »
Anyone tried Half Moon Lake? Going for the first time this year and wondered if anyone else had been there and how was the fishing?

 Hey Semper Fi,
I just booked a trip myself to Half Moon! How did you find out about this lake? What have you heard about it? I'm going in Aug. what about you? As far as equipment,What are you taking for a walleye and pike rod/reel? (and line?)

A buddy told me about this lake. They have been going up there for a couple of years. Claims they caught  a lot of nice walleye. I usually use Rapalas and Hot-n-Tots with spinning outfits and Stren 8# test. We are going the first week of June.

I definitely want to hear how you made out when you get back. Maybe you can find the honey holes for me! ;D And maybe a map of the lake!  ;) Any help, would be appreciated!

I know your going to have a fantastic week of fishing!!!! Your cabin is in a ideal spot for the week your going! A lot of channels and islands and points!! We'll be staying at the north end of the main lake but thats because its in August and the Walleyes will be in deeper water. I can't wait to hear about your trip when you get back!

Preacher_man, how did you find out about the cabin location? I was under the impression you hadn't fished the lake before? Do you know someone or find a map? Any help in advance sure would be appreciated.

Semper Fi   :)

P.S. I figured out how to see the truncated parts of these posts.

Well, I'm back! Caught well over 100 walleyes each.... fantastic lake!!! Both yellow and blue walleyes were everywhere. Blackflys were just starting, but not too bad.

Hey Preacher_man, How'd your trip to Half Moon Lake go? I'm going to stop by and talk to Luc at the Eastern Sports Show in Harrisburg next February. Hope you had a few good shore lunches!
