Private vs Public is why I don't bother with the  Winter Classic anymore.  Granted most of the game fish come from public waters. I think the pan fish are a different story. You see a lot of the same names every year for Sunfish and Crappie. You can't compete if someone has a private lake/pond with 11"+ Sunfish or 15"+ Crappie. Yes, you still have to catch them, but the odds of getting a big one are much better.

Here it is mounted. As indicated it only weighed 3 1/4 pounds. It was a natural white/black hybrid.

When I said "only" I was referring to the weight for the length which is light for 21 inches. Typically I get 18 inch crappie that weight about 3 lbs. or a little more. Obviously this fish has been around for many years and started to shrink down at some point.
