It has gone a bit quiet here...
« on: Sep 02, 2021, 04:36 PM »
What are everyone's plans (fishing) for this long weekend? My daughter-in-law is going in Friday to have my 4th grandchild, so I will not get away for any big trips this weekend... I will try to get out with Will and jig up some lakers...

Just going to hang out at camp this weekend. The local lakes will be crazy with jet skis, water skiers, pontoon boats, and just plain boaters. Everyone will be getting in the last ride. I'm waiting forTuesday on, when most schools are open and everyone is back at work. Lakes will be much quieter and pleasant to fish.

That is one of the great things about Quabbin, limited access, no boats over 25hp, only fishing boats, no jet skies, lots of fish, no houses on the shore, and lots of cool wildlife...

I'm thinking of getting down to Chicopee to fish for small mouth.

I haven't seen the chicopee river lately but the rivers that feed it (quaboag, ware) are literally unfishable. I was going to hit the ware myself but its at 650 cfps, average this time of year is 30 cfps.

Offshore looks kinda crappy.  Rivers blown out.  Long island sound is getting a fresh load of floating trees from the flooding.  Not sure what im going to do...

Thanks, Ryan! I'm aware of the water level issue, but am hoping the rivers may come down between now and Monday.

Nice work pal! Nice to share the ocean with you. We will catch up and hit them hard together.

The dumb boaters seems to be a pandemic.  Im anchored with the fam in a sheltered spot, had two different boats try to anchor two close and apparently neither knew how to ensure they were hooked.  Almost got hit twice.

Welcome to the ocean! Full of fish, water, and dummies  ;)
.
You need a road test to drive a car, you should require a water test to drive a boat. And launch one.
